TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Offshore activities include the conversion and upgrade of the structures and systems of the existing Petra platform, a.k.a. the “Spider,” which is 350 m long and 11.5 m high. The regasification vessel BW Singapore, 292 meters long and 45 meters wide, is moored near the platform.
SCAFFOLDING FOR RENOVATION WORKS
Hanging scaffolding served for sandblasting and painting tasks, from floor level to water’s edge, with a descent of approximately 9-10 meters, and from floor level to a depth of 5-6 meters. The access to the scaffolding was achieved using standards anchored to the existing beams with clamps, or connected with orthogonal joints to beams placed across the floor level. The entire structure was anchored with push-fit elements made of tube fittings and base plates. The stability of the structure was ensured by double braces and cross braces.
ACCESS SCAFFOLDING
Stairs scaffolding:
The ladder supporting the structure was constructed using Altrad Plettac Contur modular multidirectional scaffolding elements, made of steel and aluminum.
Naturally, designed with PON CAD software.

Edilcapacci srl has designed, installed, rented and sold metal scaffolding for 30 years. As a specialist in Oil & Gas construction sites, in 2024, the company was contracted by SNAM RETE GAS to design, assemble and dismantle scaffolding for the construction of the new FSRU off the coast of Ravenna, both offshore and onshore.
